Northern Cape - Public Protector Thuli Madonsela on Wednesday called on Northern Cape residents to raise complaints about RDP houses with her office.
“People should be free to approach us, we will investigate and resolve their complaints,” she told a meeting in Kimberley, according to a statement from her office.
Madonsela was in the Northern Cape as part of a countrywide investigation into government-built houses for the poor.
Residents complained about structural defects, the use of inferior material in building the structures, and delays in the provision of houses.
“All these complaints will be looked into with the view to possibly include some of them in the final systemic investigation report,” she said.
Madonsela was in the North West last week and would be in Limpopo next week. - Sapa
