Parliament - President Jacob Zuma arrived to ululations for the opening of Parliament in Cape Town on Tuesday evening.
Flanked by Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa and his wife Nompumelelo Ntuli-Zuma in a lilac dress, the president listened to the 21-gun salute and Nkosi Sikilel' iAfrica with his hand on his heart.
Zuma, dressed in a grey suit and maroon tie, joked and shook hands with people when he arrived amid heavy security.
He walked into Parliament alongside Speaker Baleka Mbete and NCOP chairwoman Thandi Modise.
This was his first public appearance in more than a week since being admitted to hospital for tests and being instructed to rest following a gruelling election campaign.
