Cape Town - President Jacob Zuma, aka “Showerhead” is a wanted man and there’s a reward if you turn him in.

Cheeky “Wanted” posters featuring the mugshots of Zuma and other high-profile politicians caused a stir along the Sea Point beachfront on Sunday.

The six large posters were plastered along a wall at the Promenade, drawing stares and laughs from passers-by.

Other “wanted criminals” whose faces bear prison tattoos, included National Police Commissioner, “Ratatat” Riah Phiyega, former president FW “Eff Vee” de Klerk, deputy president Cyril “Buffalo Boy” Ramaphosa, the City’s mayoral committee member for safety and security JP “Jou P***” Smith, Shoprite CEO Whitey Basson, and mining magnate Ivan “The Terrible” Glasenberg.

Collectively, the bounty on their heads is worth R51.3 million.

The posters were quickly removed by members of the metro police and city council officials on Sunday, but not before passers-by took pictures with them, many saying that the posters “reflected the truth”.

Kevin Coolith, a tourist from California, says Zuma’s poster best described him: “He is a thief and has been stealing from the poor.”

The posters were put up by the Xcollektive, a group of anonymous artists and writers who worked on projects for non-commercial reasons.

When voting-themed posters making fun of politicians were put up last year, a spokesman said they “try to look at serious issues in a playful way”.

“Showerhead”, who had “General salute 28” tattooed on his forehead, was wanted for corruption, murder and rape, while Ratatat-riah was on the run for gross incompetence.

Eff Vee was wanted for crimes against humanity and Smith for harassment of the poor.

An angry JP Smith says the posters have been in circulation for a year: “They are cowards and delinquents who have nothing better to do with their time. I am bored with it now.”
