Most Facebook users who saw the spoof DA Students Organisation (Daso) poster of opposition leader Helen Zille and President Jacob Zuma puppets embracing found it hilarious.
The poster is a play on the recent Daso poster of an inter-racial couple embracing, with the words: “In our future you wouldn’t think twice.” The mock poster, with the tagline “In our future you would not give a s**t”, was created by ZA News, the online satirical TV puppet show created by cartoonist Zapiro and Thierry Cassuto. Cassuto said the poster was one of several Daso spoofs on the show. The episode was titled “Porn Free. Not.”
“The beauty and the biest! (sic)” commented Christof Wuthrich of the poster on the DA Youth’s wall. Gaopie Kabe posted: “OMGeee this is hilarious and a little disturbing! LoL.” Kelee Skattebok Lategan posted: “I love this. What is the big hype with the inter-racial couple? This isn’t the 90’s… Grow the h**l up.”
And on Twitter, political commentator Eusebius McKaiser tweeted: “The best DASO spoof! Check it out and LOL.” – The Star

After a stormy marriage of 17 years where i was betrayed by my ex spouse, i have been in a relationship for the last five years with a lady who happens to be black. She is adorable and beautiful. Keep up the good work Zapiro. You are keeping us in periodic fits of laughter at our stuffy politicians who act as if they are a gift from God to the people of South Africa but are really very ordinary, lazy and not that clever.

Shapiro should have substituted Julius for Zuma, then it would make sense. Z & Z are on good terms but Z & J are not so it would make sense to see Julius and Zille in Embrace.

They look so in love. OK, I have never heard Zille personally critizising Zuma (except the ANC and its government) - now I know why.
