Cape Town – DA leader Mmusi Maimane is expected to announce a settlement on Western Cape Premier Helen Zille's disciplinary hearing, where she will apologise to the nation for colonialism tweets.

Reports this morning speculate that Zille will keep her job as Western Cape Premier but will apparently stop representing the party in any public activity as part of the deal.

Zille was not willing to comment on these reports, saying: "I will not comment, please phone the DA with regards to questions about the briefing."

Zille was officially suspended from all party activities last week by the DA's Federal Executive.

Her disciplinary hearing began last week Friday.

The party said she had caused damaged to its public image and its goals towards the 2019 elections.
