Polokwane - President Jacob Zuma has arrived at the Peter Mokaba stadium amid tight security for the national May Day rally in Polokwane.
A police chopper hovered above the stadium, with VIP police and ANC aligned uMkhonto We Sizwe Military Veterans personnel keeping a close eye on the president.
Flanked by SACP general-secretary Blade Nzimande, Cosatu president Sdumo Dlamini and ANC Limpopo chairman and Premier Stan Mathabatha, Zuma received a thunderous applause from the crowd in the stadium.
Vha-Venda monarch King Tony Mphephu Ramabulala was among Zuma's entourage.
Before taking his seat, Zuma walked around the stadium waving at the crowd.
