Pretoria -
President Jacob Zuma leaves for Jamaica on Saturday at the invitation of the country's prime minister Portia Simpson Miller.
This would be Zuma's first working visit to the island, the presidency said in a statement on Thursday.
“He will join in the year-long celebrations... to commemorate the 50th anniversary of 1/8the 3/8 country’s independence, as well as hold bilateral discussions with the prime minister,” it said.
“South Africa is proud to celebrate Jamaica's achievements as an independent, stable and constitutional parliamentary democracy.”
