Cape Town - President Jacob Zuma’s laughter is no joke for opposition parties.

While Zuma appeared unperturbed about the reaction his giggling was provoking, MPs pulled no punches.

Many took to social media to publicly voice their displeasure at the president's failure to tackle critical issues.

The Democratic Alliance was scathing in its criticism of the president’s performance during the Question and Answer session in Parliament.

The party tweeted from it’s official account:

Today Pres. Zuma laughed while millions of SAns suffer - @MmusiMaimane #ThingsZumaLaughsAt https://t.co/obIswzGk7B pic.twitter.com/nKrAG50Sgg

Meanwhile the Economic Freedom Fighters tweeted that “The country has no president”.

Zuma undermines Parliament. He has laughed and giggled more than he could provide any intellectual answers to serious questions.

Questions about lavish spending, most notably the procurement of a R4 billion presidential jet were left mostly unanswered by the jovial head of state.

Social media users have not spared the president or the ruling party, with many becoming extremely personal in their condemnation of Zuma.
