Pretoria - President Jacob Zuma extended good wishes to South Africa's Chinese community ahead of its Chinese New Year celebrations, the Presidency said on Thursday.
“The relations between South Africa and China have grown from strength to strength, thus together we have an important duty to set goals for our relations in the year ahead,” Zuma said in a statement.
The Chinese New Year would be celebrated on Friday, heralding the Year of the Horse in the Chinese calendar.
“I would therefore urge and encourage the South African Chinese community that increased job creation be one such goal we can set ourselves to achieve this coming year,” Zuma said.
