A group of 28 South African manufacturers in the leather and footwear industry have left for China on a three-month training programme to acquire advanced skills.

The Department of Trade and Industry announced yesterday that the group, which consists of shoe manufacturers from Gauteng, the Eastern Cape, KwaZulu-Natal and the Western Cape, left on Saturday for the Shoe Design and Manufacturing Techniques Capacity Building Programme.

The department said the group would be based in Fuzhou City until September. - ANA
