Cape Town - SA hip hop star AKA has responded to EFF leader Julius Malema’s apparent “druggie” dig at him.

At a press conference on Wednesday to announce the EFF’s decision on coalitions, Malema told reporters in Alexandra, north of Johannesburg, that the ANC had used druggies and drunkards to try win votes.

After marathon talks with other parties, the red berets have chosen to not become part of a coalition with any party at the country’s 27 hung municipalities, opting to instead be an opposition party.

Malema said: “ We are not going to have a country run by druggies who are called celebrities ... Those druggies have costed the ANC. One druggie was even saying, seeing the ANC at 40... here in Joburg ... at 43 and the druggie was saying 'Ja we want Joburg'. [inaudible] drugs are dangerous, this artist was so innocent he took nyaope and thought 43 percent means winning (laughter) he thinks it's simple like that... when the other one 43 and rest is 33 and 11 then he thinks oh we have won... yoh druggie.

“And then a drunkard minister retweeted the druggie. The druggie says we have won ... the drunkard retweets the druggie. The drunkard doesn't clarify, no man you are embarrassing us. Remember the drunkard was the first one to declare a victory in PE because the drunkard said we won more votes (unclear) therefore we have won... yoh ... drunkard didn't see it coming. That's a problem of having ministers who are drunkards.”

No names were mentioned, but AKA later on Wednesday tweeted: “If Julius is indeed referring to me, man what a day!! With everything on his plate, and he still has time to think of me?! ???? I'm honored.”

Earlier on Thursday Mbalula tweeted about Malema again.

@Julius_S_Malema Will never support us he is using the mere talk to rally political points.

According to some people on Twitter, Mbalula is the “drunkard minister” Malema refers to.
