Villagers at Ga-Ratisi in the Northern Province holding an all-night vigil arrested a naked man early on Sunday morning, who is believed to have committed bestiality with a goat which later died.
Police spokesperson Inspector James Moatshe Ngoepe said a villager heard his goats screaming in the kraal next to his house and went to investigate.
"He saw a naked man jump out of the kraal and run away. The people next door were holding an all-night vigil and saw the man and chased and caught him," Ngoepe said.
The goat owner later discovered that one of his goats had died, apparently from a sexual assault.
The man is expected to appear in the Bolobedi Magistrate's Court on Monday. - Sapa
