Johannesburg Kempton Park police are still searching for a teenager who beat up and castrated a dog in a macabre satanic ritual.
North Rand police spokesperson Superintendent Eugene Opperman said detectives were desperately hoping that somebody with information would come forward to help them with their investigation.
In the early hours of Saturday morning, a youth, believed to be aged between 16 and 20, gruesomely kicked and beat a dog to death in open veld in the suburb of Glen Marais, Kempton Park, before ripping out its genitals.
The boy spray-painted a satanic symbol on the dog's body and fled on a motorcycle after he was confronted by a resident.
"We need information so that we can catch these people," Opperman said.
Police said there had been an increase in satanic rituals in the Ekhuruleni area recently. Anybody with information about crimes related to satanism should contact the head of crime intelligence at their local police station.- Daily News Correspondent
