86 workers injured in PE harbour accident

Port Elizabeth - More than 80 employees were injured when the floor of a fishing company collapsed at the Port Elizabeth harbour, Eastern Cape police said on Friday.

The top floor of Eyethu Fishing collapsed on Thursday at about 8pm, Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said.

Eight-six workers sustained bruises and fractures.

No serious injuries or fatalities were reported.

Van Rensburg said the cause of the accident was not yet known.

Paramedics transported the injured workers to various hospitals. - Sapa
