Butterworth – A badly decomposed body, suspected to be that of a man, was found floating in a river in Butterworth on Sunday, Eastern Cape police said.
“The deceased, who was in a bad state of decomposition, was found floating at Gcuwa River, which is near Butterworth Country Club, Butterworth,” Captain Jackson Manatha said.
The body was spotted by a member of the public who alerted police.
The body was wearing short pants.
Police appealed to the community to contact the Butterworth police on 047-401-1100 if they could help to identify the body.
An inquest docket had been opened, Manatha said.
