There is a small chance of snowfall in the Western and Eastern Cape on Friday as a cold front moves in, the SA Weather Service said.
“It will be very cold in the west, with a small chance of snowfalls in the highland areas of the Western Cape tomorrow morning,” forecaster Bransdy Bulo said on Thursday.
There was also an 80 percent chance of heavy rainfall in Cape Town, and a 30 percent chance of rain in Sutherland and Calvinia.
Snow was also possible in the highland areas of the Eastern Cape on Friday evening.
“We are expecting the cold front to reach the country by tomorrow morning. It will hit the Western Cape first and in the afternoon it will move to the Eastern Cape and the southern Free State.”
The cold front will move to KwaZulu-Natal on Saturday.
By Sunday, it would be “cool” in Gauteng, and by Monday sunny but cold. – Sapa
