Four people were killed when a car and truck crashed between Butterworth and Dutywa in the Eastern Cape, police said on Monday.

Four occupants of the car - two men and two women aged 42 and 37 - were declared dead on the scene, said Captain Jackson Manatha.

Two men in the truck were not injured in the accident at 6pm on Sunday, he said.
