Port Elizabeth - A man was seriously injured while trying to hoist a life boat up the side of a ship in Port Elizabeth harbour on Thursday afternoon, paramedics said.
“Netcare 911 paramedics arrived at the scene and found the man lying on the deck,” Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said in a statement.
“The emergency crews worked fervently to stabilise the patient and after he was skilfully immobilised on a trauma board they had to clamber down the steep gangway to get the patient to the ambulance waiting at the wharf.”
The man was taken to hospital for further treatment.
