Port Elizabeth - A man was killed and two women were critically injured when two cars collided on Rocklands Road, about 10km outside Uitenhage, on Monday afternoon, paramedics said.
“Netcare 911 paramedics and the fire department arrived at the scene and found accident debris and the twisted frames of the vehicles spread over a large area, with the injured still trapped in the twisted frames,” Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.
A man in his 60s died on the scene.
Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to free the injured, during which paramedics worked to stabilise them.
Reports from the scene indicated the vehicles were travelling between Uitenhage and Rockdale when they collided around 3pm.
