Pedestrian killed by hearse

A pedestrian died after he was struck by a hearse on its way to a funeral in Butterworth, Eastern Cape police said on Monday.

Captain Jackson Manatha said the 67-year-old man was killed around 6am on Saturday near the Thanga junction along the N2.

“The hearse, carrying a coffin, was on its way to a funeral when the accident happened.”

The cause of the accident was being investigated. – Sapa
