Large rocks were falling on the Kei River Pass on the N2 between Butterworth and East London due to heavy rainfall, Arrive Alive in the Eastern Cape said on Tuesday morning.
Spokesman Tshepo Machaya urged motorists to be cautious when driving through the area as the rocks were big and were disrupting traffic.
“We are organising people to remove the rocks so that traffic can flow smoothly,” he said.
On Monday, a truck spilled oil in the Mtentu area between Mthatha and Dutywa on the N2 and a number of vehicles overturned in the rainy weather.
Three people were injured in accidents.
Machaya said road users should approach with care because it is a winding road which also has a history of oil spills by trucks. - Sapa
