Port Elizabeth - Three people died and two were critically injured in a crash near Port Elizabeth, in the Eastern Cape on Tuesday, said paramedics.

A 4x4 and a Volkswagen Golf collided head-on along Marine Drive, in Noordhoek, at about 2pm, said Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha.

Three people in the Golf were declared dead on the scene. Two people in the 4x4 were critically injured and were taken to a nearby hospital, he said. - Sapa
