According to police, on July 25, at about 23:45, two unknown men entered a house in Chris Hani location in Mangaung where a group of people were sitting and drinking.

"One suspect who was armed allegedly started shooting randomly at the people in the house, and thereafter both men fled the scene," police spokesperson, Colonel Thandi Mbambo, said: "As a result, four males, aged between 16 and 32, died at the scene, and three, two men and a female, were referred to a local hospital in Bloemfontein with serious injuries."
