Ficksburg – A man believed to have suffered an epileptic seizure while driving crashed his car along the R26 in Ficksburg and died.
ER24 spokesperson Annine Dormehl said the man in his 30's died Sunday night after he lost control of his vehicle 9 km outside of Ficksburg.
Dormehl said paramedics found the man had been ejected from the Ford Fiesta as the vehicle rolled down an embankment.
"The man was found under the car and paramedics found epileptic medication next to the car."
"It is also believed that the man could have had an epileptic seizure while driving and that this could have caused him to lose control of the vehicle," said Dormehl.
Local authorities are investigating.
