Viljoenskroon - One person was killed and 15 injured when a bus crashed into trees outside Viljoenskroon, Free State, in the early hours of Saturday morning, paramedics said.

“Reports from the scene indicate that the bus driver collided with a cow on the road, lost control of the bus and crashed into trees on the roadside,” Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said.

The driver died on the scene.

The injured, which included a baby, were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment. - Sapa
