Vrede - One person was killed and 17 others were injured when a minibus taxi collided with a heavy goods vehicle near Vrede, Free State, on Monday, paramedics said.
The injured were treated on the scene, on the R103, before they were taken to hospital, said Netcare 911 spokesman Santi Steinmann.
The cause of the accident was not yet known.
