One dead, four hurt in crash

Free State -

One person was killed on Monday and four others were injured in a crash on the R59 outside Parys in the Free State, paramedics said.

“One person suffered extensive injuries and died on the scene,” said ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson.

Jackson said a bakkie and Audi collided head-on early in the morning.

The bakkie overturned, hurling out one of its five passengers as it rolled. One of the passengers was killed.

The four bakkie occupants and the Audi driver were treated for moderate injuries before being transported to surrounding hospitals.
