Johannesburg - A 10-year-old girl died in an accident in Bloemspruit, Bloemfontein, on Friday, paramedics said.

She was walking to school when she was hit by a taxi in Eeufees road, ER24 spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said.

Her body was apparently dragged about 100 metres from the point of impact and she was declared dead on the scene, said Jackson.
