Johannesburg - An arrest warrant has been issued for a person wanted in connection with financial irregularities at the SABC, according to a news report on Saturday.
A number of arrests were expected in connection with financial maladministration at the state broadcaster, which was uncovered in a report by the auditor general, the SABC reported.
Head of the Special Investigating Unit Willie Hofmeyr said: “One arrest warrant has been issued and the Hawks are currently looking for the person who seems to be trying to evade arrest at this stage....”
He said there were “two or three cases” already under consideration with the National Prosecuting Authority, and a final decision on whether they too should be arrested was expected soon. - Sapa
