Johannesburg - Traffic in the vicinity of the FNB Stadium will be diverted on Wednesday ahead of the clash between Bafana Bafana and Zambia in the Nelson Mandela Soccer Challenge, said Johannesburg metro police.

Spokesperson Chief Superintendent Wayne Minnaar said on Tuesday that traffic would be disrupted there between 6pm and 11pm.

“The Nasrec road will be converted to three lanes in a northerly direction before the match... The road will be converted to three lanes in a southerly direction after the match,” he said.

Traffic officials would direct vehicles from the traffic circle on Nasrec road, where it intersects with the N17, and Landbou, Rand Show, Stadium and League roads.

“Fans are urged to go to the stadium early to avoid traffic congestion,” said Minnaar.

Kick-off is at 8pm. - Sapa
