A motorcyclist was airlifted to hospital in a critical condition on Thursday morning after he was side-swiped by a truck in Welbekend, Pretoria, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said the motorcyclist had joined the R25 from a side road when the truck hit him.

“He is in a critical condition after he sustained severe lower-limb trauma.”

Wicks said the man would be taken to the Steve Biko Academic Hospital. – Sapa
