Johannesburg – A boy, believed to be three years old, had a lucky escape when he sustained only minor injuries after falling four metres off a balcony of a flat on Klein Street in the Johannesburg CBD, ER24 said on Thursday.
ER24 spokesperson, Russel Meiring, said paramedics arrived on the scene and were led into the courtyard where they found the young boy being held by his mother.
"Upon assessment, we found that the child was fortunate in having sustained only minor injuries," Meiring said.
"The patient was treated and thereafter transported by another service to Johannesburg General Hospital for further treatment."
According to Meiring, it is believed the child was playing on the balcony when he fell. Local authorities were investigating the incident further.
