Cabinet has condemned the gang rape of a mentally ill Soweto teenager.

“Cabinet has condemned, in the strongest possible terms, the barbaric act committed to a 17-year-old Soweto girl,” government spokesman Jimmy Manyi told a media briefing following the executive's regular Wednesday meeting.

“Cabinet calls on the law enforcement to ensure that the full might of the law is implemented. Cabinet congratulates the South African Police Service for their decisive and swift action in apprehending the alleged perpetrators,” he said.
