An office romp has cost a Kagiso female police officer and a male correctional services officer their jobs after a video of the two apparently having sex on duty surfaced.

The Sowetan newspaper on Monday published a series of pictures of the two uniformed officers engaged in what Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa described as an “immoral act” and an “embarrassment to the uniform and badge of the (police) and that of correctional services”.

The female officer, wearing what appears to be a wedding ring, is seen standing with her pants down while the man, seated in front of her, touches her. The two officers were apparently supposed to guard a suspect they had transported from a government hospital for a medical check-up at Leratong Hospital in Krugersdorp.

More pictures show the officers engaging in the ‘act’ in the hospital's office while the correctional officer’s service pistol is still attached to his waist.

The Sowetan reports that Mthethwa commended the SAPS for swiftly dismissing the Kagiso police officer when they became aware of the video.

Meanwhile, the correctional services officer has reportedly handed in a 24-hour resignation. According to the Sowetan, the man admitted that he had recorded the act himself to make sure that he would be safe in case the woman turned around and accused him of rape. However a friend got hold of the footage and sent it to a number of people. - IOL
