A man was killed and his son was seriously injured when their motorbike collided with a truck in Kempton Park, east of Johannesburg, on Friday, Gauteng paramedics said.

Netcare911 spokesman Jeffrey Wicks said the accident happened on Friday afternoon in Bredell, Kempton Park.

“It is believed the motorbike with the man and his 17-year-old son had ridden into the path of the oncoming truck.”

Wicks said the man sustained fatal injuries and was declared dead on the scene.

“The boy suffered serious injuries and was rushed to the Tembisa State Hospital after he had been stabilised on the scene.” - Sapa
