Disabled girl and driver killed in collision

Durban - A man and a disabled schoolgirl were killed in a collision between a bakkie and a minibus in Bronkhorstspruit on Tuesday.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Athlenda Mathe said the accident that happened on the R25 also left 24 disabled children injured.

Two of the children were in a critical condition. One was airlifted to hospital.

The rest of the children sustained minor to moderate injuries. The bakkie driver and and the teenager were declared dead at the scene.

It was not immediately known what led to the collision between the bakkie and the minibus, which was taking the children to their special needs school.

Authorities were on scene investigating.
