Johannesburg - Former Griquas rugby player Brett Tucker and his family were attacked by a lion at the Lion Park, outside Krugersdorp, on Saturday.

”We have decided not to make any comment. Need to consult with our family and lawyer,” he said in a text message response to The Star.

Tucker was driving and his daughter was on his father’s lap when a lion tried to put its paw through the window. The grandfather threw her in the back seat. The window was slightly down.

Tucker’s father suffered minor injuries when the lion clawed him. He tried to close the electric window, but accidentally rolled it down, so the lion managed to get its head inside the car and bit him on the shoulder. The family were taken to hospital.
