Johannesburg - Three people were killed in a head-on collision in Muldersdrift, west of Johannesburg, paramedics said on Sunday.

It was believed the three died on the spot after they were ejected from their bakkie on Malibongwe Drive, near Lion Park, on Saturday night.

“The family comprised a baby and parents”, ER24 said.

The second vehicle carried three people who sustained injuries.

“One entrapped patient was freed in a 45-minute operation and seriously injured. The two other occupants of this vehicle sustained minor injuries.”

They were taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment.

The cause of the accident was being investigated.
