Johannesburg - Fifteen people were injured when a taxi they were travelling in caught alight on Witkoppen Road in Fourways, north of Johannesburg, paramedics said.

The taxi caught fire after it collided with a car on Wednesday afternoon, ER24 spokeswoman Luyanda Majija said.

Fourteen of the occupants managed to get out of the minibus with minor and moderate injuries.

One occupant sustained serious injuries, she said.
