Johannesburg - A woman was critically injured and three other people were seriously injured when two goods trains collided in Brakpan, on the East Rand, on Tuesday afternoon, paramedics said.

Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said one of the trains overturned.

“After the injured were treated and stabilised on scene, they were transported to nearby medical facilities for the medical care that they required.”

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear and would be investigated. - Sapa
