Johannesburg – South African forecast experts on Monday warned that three provinces in the country would experience very high temperatures this week.

The heatwave would continue until the end of the week, with Gauteng and the Western Cape experiencing very high temperatures, estimated in the high 30 degrees Celsius. Temperatures in Limpopo could rise as high as 40 degrees Celsius this week.

South African Weather Service’s Dipuo Tawana warned people to stay out of the sun, especially in the afternoon.

“It will be the hottest time, so people should not expose themselves to outside labour, especially children,” said Tawana.
