Johannesburg - A worker was left seriously injured on Friday morning after he fell eight metres while working on a construction site at Data Crescent in Ormonde, south of Johannesburg.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said when paramedics arrived on the scene at 8.28am they found the man lying on the ground beneath some scaffolding, surrounded by several of his colleagues.

“On assessment, paramedics found that the patient had sustained numerous injuries, leaving him in a serious condition,” said Meiring.

Paramedics treated the injured man and initiated advanced life support interventions.

“Once treated, the patient was transported to Baragwanath Hospital for further medical treatment.”
