Johannesburg -

The Johannesburg group of Cosatu's anti-toll “drive-slow” reached Sauer Street in the CBD before 7pm on Thursday.

The group was expected to cross the Queen Elizabeth Bridge, then go onto Biccard Street before ending at Cosatu house on Jorissen Street, from where the protest started on Thursday morning.

More people joined the protest throughout the day.

Meanwhile the other group was on the N3 south, on its way back to Mboro Church in Ekurhuleni. It was moving slowly and expected to reach its starting point at 7.30pm.

In both convoys traffic was moving slowly. Motorists hooted and pumped their fists out of the windows. The Congress of SA Trade Unions-led protest was to show opposition to the government's plans to toll major highways around Johannesburg and Pretoria. - Sapa
