Johannesburg - The electricity supply in Louwlardia, Centurion, has been cut off, the City of Tshwane said on Monday.

“Investigations have revealed that the outage was as a result of theft of an 11kV radial cable between NIVS substation and the first electrical box,” city manager Patronella Molaeng said.

Streets in the area affected since the power outages on Monday morning included Rasmus Erusmus, Lucia Lileen, Hilltop, Greenfield, Grasland, Fountainview, Watervoor, and Pecan.

“The city is aware of the problem and a proficient team from energy and electricity division is working hard to restore the situation back to normality, said Molaeng.

Power should return to the area by Monday afternoon.
