Stock valued at R30 million was destroyed in the Dis-Chem pharmacy razed by a fire in Roodepoort, Johannesburg, Beeld reported on Tuesday.
The pharmacy, one of six shops at the Princess Crossing shopping centre that caught fire on Tuesday, underwent extensive renovations less than a year ago, according to Niall Hegarty, a Dis-Chem director.
He said that around 118 of their employees would be sent to other branches in the greater Johannesburg area, and would not be retrenched.
Hegarty urged clients to make use of other pharmacies in the area to get their prescription medication.
