Carletonville – A 41-year-old man was critically injured when his car overturned several times along the Deelkraal Road near Carletonville in Gauteng late on Saturday night.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at about 10pm where they found the man several metres away from his car. It was believed that he was ejected from the car when it rolled, ER24 spokesman Werner Vermaak said on Sunday.

“Paramedics found him with critical injuries. He was stabilised and placed on life support while an emergency helicopter was called to airlift him to Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.”

The cause of the accident was not yet known and the man had been the only occupant of the car, Vermaak said.
