Pretoria - A man suffered serious burns after an explosion at a chemical factory in Waltloo, Pretoria on Friday, paramedics said.

“The man sustained about seventy percent burn wounds over his body as a result of the explosion,” Netcare 911 spokeswoman Santi Steinmann said.

The 44-year-old was stabilised and taken to hospital for treatment. - Sapa
