Johannesburg - A man died and two other people were injured when their vehicle collided head-on with another vehicle in Winterveld near Soshonguve, paramedics said on Sunday.
The accident happened along Bushveldt road in the area on Saturday night, Netcare 911 spokesman Chris Botha said.
“Exact detail to the cause of the accident is still speculative, however a Mercedes and a VW Polo collided head on after an errant party crossed into oncoming traffic,” said Botha.
The Polo driver was confirmed dead at the scene, while passenger in the Mercedes sustained serious injuries.
The Mercedes driver sustained critical injuries and paramedics had to use the jaws of life to free him.
He was airlifted to hospital.
The passenger was treated on scene and taken to a nearby hospital by paramedics.
