Johannesburg - A man was hit and killed by a truck in City Deep, south of Johannesburg, on Friday, paramedics said.

“According to witnesses, the man was trying to cross over Houer Road in City Deep in order to buy food on the other side,” ER24

spokeswoman Vanessa Jackson said.

“The large truck and trailer was travelling down the same street... It is believed to have been the trailer section that knocked the man down.”

The man, believed to be in his mid-twenties, died on the scene. - Sapa
