Johannesburg – A man was killed and two others injured Wednesday night after an apparent robbery at a shop on the corners of R114 and Cedar Road near Lanseria, ER24 paramedics said in a statement.

"Upon arrival, paramedics found that a man had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest and showed no signs of life. CPR and advanced life support interventions were immediately initiated in an attempt to revive the patient," said ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring.

"Unfortunately, after no vital signs returned the man was declared dead."

Earlier ER24 paramedics were called to an accident scene where Meiring said Life Healthcare services was already assessing two men.

"Assessment showed that one man had sustained a gunshot wound to his chest while the other had sustained a gunshot to his abdomen. Both men were in a serious condition."

Meiring said the two men were treated and provided with advanced life support interventions.

"Both men were thereafter transported to a nearby private hospital for further treatment," he said.

It is believed that the two incidents were related, but this is subject to the investigation of local authorities.

The details surrounding this incident are not yet known but authorities were on scene for further investigations.
